MOOD OF THE 22 March 2013

Frustration and sadness

Hello everybody,

I can feel the bitter taste of defeat while I am writing to you. We were stopped while we were in progress after we qualified against Anzi past Thursday. Losing against Wigan put an end to our serie of good results, which is not helping our attempt to escape from relegation.

The defeat is even harder to accept given the circumstances in which the team played. We were destabilized by the loss of Debuch early in the game. On the top of that we were totally unhinged and saddened by Massadio’s injury a few minutes after his entry.

That’s the kind of image no one wants to see and keeping on playing after that was even more difficult. The team had to get back into the game and find new bearings.

Although every player must be ready to play anywhere on the field, it was really difficult for the substitutes to find their bearings.

It’s way too early to really know how long Massadio will be held away from the field, but the sooner he gets back, the better. Regarding Debuch’, further information later after additional medical tests.

To conclude, I want to let you know about my own physical condition. Despite what has been said, it’s not a groin injury. However, I did feel an adductor pain. The coach decided not to take any risk by replacing me and giving me rest last night.

I am going to undergo further tests in order to appraise my ache and to know whether I am able to play or not with France against Georgia and Spain. I should also say that my injury hasn’t anything to do with the fact that I have my own physical trainer. Fabien is a competent person who has been helping me a lot for many years. See you soon on the field and I wish Massadio and Debuch a quick a full recovery. Yo.
